Our very own Professor David Embrick has been honored with the 2026 Doris Wikinson Faculty Leadership Award and the 2026 Lee Founders Award from The Society for the Study of Social Problems. These prestigious awards recognize his career leadership, service, and research within the field of Sociology. Bandana Purkayastha: Awarded 2026–2027 SWS Feminist Trailblazer Award

UConn Sociology Professor Bandana Purkayastha has been selected as the recipient of the 2026–2027 SWS Feminist Trailblazer Award by Sociologists for Women in Society.
