Sujin Rhim


From Seoul, South Korea, Susie Rhim is finishing her BA in Sociology with a minor in
Statistics at California State University, East Bay. Her current project investigates how
college students’ race, educational backgrounds, and perceived institutional barriers
affect their interactions with faculty, specifically in a diverse institution. As a Research
Assistant at the Civic Life of Cities Lab at Stanford PACS, Susie is also observing how the
non-profit sector in the US is responding to COVID-19. Her areas of interests are
Organizational Sociology, Social Movements, and Higher Education. She looks forward
to studying the effects of institutional decision-making by looking at how diversity
