Biographical Statement:
I have been working in the area of drug-related HIV prevention since 1988 and developed, along with Dr. Douglas D. Heckathorn of Cornell University, an innovative model to access and work with active injection drug users, called a “peer-driven intervention.”
I am also interested in examining other innovative methods for combating HIV and related diseases among drug users. My work involves community demonstration projects in Connecticut, Russia, Vietnam, China and Thailand.
